live action

much of my recent video work consists of layering various physical and digital works to create a textured appearance. the green screen, fishing wire, and a dj controller are my friend. assets range from ephemera, clay sculptures, toys, drawings, etc. these physical entities intertwine with live digital footage from various locations across the globe, primarily in remote outdoor locations. in my later works, I tend to gravitate towards a more gritty feel with older vhs, handycam, and early 2000’s digital camera point of view versus DSLRs in my earlier work. I like to explore play, humor, and juxtapositions against the borderline unease of everyday stillness.

animation

my style of animation gives likeness to older CD-ROM video games. sort of like a moving image combined with I-Spy. for the most part, I tend to physically collage my assets and later edit them in post. since I was about 10 I started making stop motion films and still enjoy doing so and would like to expand on the idea (La Casa Lobo has now become one of my favorite films). I have also been dabbling in hand drawn animation and am currently working towards rotoscope.
